What do the Grinch and Tony the Tiger Have in Common?

Tony the Tiger is one of cereal's most recognizable mascots.  With an instantly memorable catch-phrase and an awesome personality, who wouldn't fall in love with the feline advocate of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes?

Part of what makes Tony so great, is his deep, comforting voice.  What many people don't know is that the original voice of Tony the Tiger was Thurl Ravenscroft.  Thurl did a fair bit of voice-acting, playing such roles as Kirby from The Brave Little Toaster as well as minor roles in other Disney films.

Haha, his surliness makes him hilarious.  He is uncaring, but on the inside he has a heart...er...bag(?) of gold.

Ravenscroft's role in How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is perhaps his most memorable.  He provided his deep voice for the song "You're a Mean One Mister Grinch".  Once you know that, you will never be able to unhear Tony the Tiger singing about the dastardly deeds of a green whats-it with a heart that is two sizes too small.  Here are two videos for you to compare the voices.
