When Planet of the Apes was released in 1968 it stunned audiences with it's incredible make-up design, special effects and crazy twist at the end. Fast-forward over 30 years, audiences were anticipating a remake helmed by Tim Burton. What they were given was a hot mess which pretty much killed the franchise off for the next decade.
