Aragorn and Arwen Sitting in a Tree...

So Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings is really into older women.  And when I say older women I'm not talking about a five, ten or even twenty year age difference.  No, Aragorn goes after women who are more than 2,500 years older than him.

Seriously.

You wouldn't believe it when you watch the films, but Arwen who was born in the 241 T.A. to Elrond and Celebrían who, incidentally is the daughter of this she-elf:

Galadriel

Aragorn, on the other hand was born in 2,931 T.A.  His father was killed when he was very young and so his mother brought him to Elrond to be cared for.  When Aragorn was 20 he  met Arwen for the first time. She was 2,710 years-old at that point.  Yet they fell in love and eventually got married.

Aragorn met his inevitable end when he was 210, being laid to rest in the House of the Kings in Minas Tirith.  Arwen was at his side when, at last he passed on.  About one year later Arwen, who was deeply saddened at the passing of her beloved husband, journeyed to Lorien, laid under a tree and let herself pass on from this life.  The account is given in Apendix A of the Lord of the Rings in this manner:

But Arwen went forth from the House, and the light of her eyes was quenched, and it seemed to her people that she had become cold and grey as nightfall in winter that comes without a star. Then she said farewell to Eldarion, and to her daughters, and to all whom she had loved; and she went out from the city of Minas Tirith and passed away to the land of Lórien, and dwelt there alone under the fading trees until winter came. Galadriel had passed away and Celeborn was also gone, and the land was silent.

There at last when the mallorn-leaves were falling, but spring had not yet come, she laid herself to rest upon Cerin Amroth; and there is her green grave, until the world is changed, and all the days of her life are utterly forgotten by men that come after, and elanor and niphredilbloom no more east of the Sea.
